授業の内容（Course Description） |
|
In the second semester, the course will focus on the cultural history of the United States from World War I to the late 20th century. Based on the chronology（年代順） in the required texbook, the course will also examine movies, photographs, music and other forms of popular culture. The course will place a special emphasis on issues of race, gender and ethnicity in the 20th century. We will do a lot of reading and listening exercises in class. Students will improve their vocabularies through the readings and the lectures.

やさしい英語のテキストを使い、アメリカ文化史の基本を把握した上で、英語の読解力の向上も目指します。
更に各時代の背景、文化、社会、文学を考察し、アメリカ文化と日本文化、そしてアジア文化との違いなどについて自分の意見を持つことも重視します。

提出物・小テスト・期末テストなどで総合的に評価する。

学生への要望・その他（Class Requirements） |
|
１． 分かりやすい英語のテキストを使うことになりますが、予習と復習を必ず行うこと。
２．授業開始からの15分間は、ビデオなどの説明或いは小テストの時間になりますので、遅刻は厳禁とする。
３．前期と後期は同じテキストを使う。必ず教科書を購入すること。
４．授業中に、質問以外は、私語厳禁とする。
