1. 授業の内容(Course Description)
 This course consists primarily of drills intended to give students practice in the pronunciation of the English language, particularly American English. Included are lessons on the differences between “textbook English” and the language as it is actually used. Rules for pronunciation are provided in the text. CDs are included with the text so that students may practice and review on their own. (Second of a two course sequence.)

授業の到達目標(Course Objectives)
 To assist students in pronouncing English correctly. Special attention will be given to the problems of native Japanese speakers.

成績評価方法(Grading Policy)
 Final grades are calculated on the basis of 50% for class participation and 50% for the final exam.

学生への要望・その他(Class Requirements)
 Class participation grades are based on attendance, active participation in class, quality of work, effort, and attitude. The final exam, given during the last class, will cover all of the class work of the semester.

 The course will cover the following chapters of the text at a pace based on students’ needs:
 Chapter 5: Syllable Stress
 Chapter 6: Word Stress
 Chapter 7: Intonation
 Chapter 8: Sound Like a True Native
 Chapter 9: Memorizing the Exceptions
 Last class: Final exam
