授業の内容(Course Description) |

This course will trace the history of the development of the United States fromlist beginnings up to the late nineteenth century as a basis for understanding American culture and values. Lectures will be given in English appropriate to the typical English language level of the students in the course. (First of a two course sequence.)

|
The objective of the course is to increase students’ knowledge of the United States, including the country’s history, culture, and values. In addition, the course is designed to improve English language skills.

成績評価方法(Grading Policy) |
|
Final grades are calculated on the basis of 50% for class participation and 50% for the final exam.

Class participation grades are based on attendance, active participation in class, quality of work, effort, and attitude. The final exam, given during the last class, will cover all of the class work of the semester.
