Objectives |
|
This is a course designed for complete beginners in the Chinese language, starting with Chinese phonetics and including basic daily conversations. It is our hope that, through learning the Chinese language, the students will become acquainted with the essentials of contemporary China -- its people, history and culture.

Outline |
|
1) To begin with, learn Pinyin - the basic rules of both the pronunciation and Romanized writing;
2) Learn some basic daily conversations, and familiarize the learners with basic Chinese grammar.
Methods: Teaching and learning are done through questions and answers, stressing all-round training of the brain, mouth, eyes, and ears of the learners.
