1.
Objectives
In this class, laboratory experiment dealing with electronics will be performed. Learners will experiment with analog-to-digital conversion, digital-to-analog manipulation, MPU (main processing unit) and FPGA (field programmable gate array) for embedded design by themselves. While experimenting and writing reports, learners will acquire the basic skills for designing embedded systems.
2.
Outline
The learners shall attend classes for a total of 15 weeks on the following topics;
1st week: Guidance and lectures on reporting
2nd week: Analog voltage control; by PWM
3rd week: Analog voltage control; by adder
4th week: Experiment on MPU; digital output handling
5th week: Experiment on MPU; A/D and D/A conversion (1)
6th week: Experiment on MPU; A/D and D/A conversion (2)
7th week: Experiment on MPU; the circuit design and evaluation (1)
8th week: Experiment on MPU; the circuit design and evaluation (2)
9th week: Experiment on MPU; the circuit design and evaluation (3)
10th week: Experiment on FPGA; logic synthesis practice (1)
11th week: Experiment on FPGA; logic synthesis practice (2)
12th week: Experiment on FPGA; logic synthesis practice (3)
13th week: Experiment on FPGA; the circuit design and evaluation (1)
14th week: Experiment on FPGA; the circuit design and evaluation (2)
15th week: Experiment on FPGA; the circuit design and evaluation (3)
Five reports will be submitted during the 15 weeks of classes.
