1.
Objectives
The purpose of this course is to enable students to learn elementary level grammar to improve English proficiency.
2.
Outline
In this course students are asked to review the outline of English grammar they learned in junior high school and in high school by writing English sentences used in routine daily life. English composition aims at written communication with English‒speaking people. As well as vocabulary, grammar is indispensable to build English sentences. In this sense, English composition is a good way for students to apply grammatical knowledge into practical use and as a matter of fact, it is believed to be the best way to evaluate whether students have acquired proper grammatical knowledge or not.
Students are required to do some listening comprehension exercises and write English sentences in order to check their grammatical knowledge after they have grasped grammatical points through example sentences in each chapter of the textbook.
