Objectives
After the high growth economic period, the problem of regional decline materialized in Japan. The aim of this course is to recognize the problems and the actions taken toward regional development through the case studies in Japan.

Outline
The course is structured first to consider what “regional development” is, second to learn the history of regional development policies in Japan, and then, to consider the problems and the actions taken toward regional revitalization through case studies in Japan.
