授業の内容(Course Description) |
|
In this course, students will learn the basic elements of communicative English using a simple and effective system to help them communicate ideas effectively. Each class will outline a specific target and students will be asked to work in pairs and/or small groups. Practical communication will be emphasized throughout the course and students will be given ample opportunity to improve their communication skills in various scenarios found in everyday life.

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to demonstrate practical conversational skills in a variety of situations. The course will provide students an opportunity to internalize the material through various conversation-based exercises. In doing so, students will be able to use the knowledge they have gained throughout the course in real world situations with confidence.

Mid-Term Exam: 30% Final Exam: 40% Assignments: 20% Participation and Attendance: 10%

Textbooks will not be required for this course. Handouts will be provided for the students each week.

Assignments will be set at the discretion of the teacher.

学生への要望・その他(Class Requirements) |
|
It is mandatory that you attend a minimum of 10 classes and that you participate in all activities during each class. All tests must be taken on the day and time of the test unless prior arrangements to take the test at another time have been made with the teacher. All homework assignments must be submitted on the due date as instructed by the teacher. Students failing to meet the deadlines will be penalized unless adequate documentation is provided by the student (train slip, doctor’s note, etc.) Students arriving more than 20 minutes late will not be rewarded for attendance nor participation unless adequate documentation is provided.
