1. Course Description
In this course, we examine further the relation between the law and the society. The aim of this course is (1) to let students think how our society and the law have treated children and their family, and (2) to let them know how the legal system in Japan was established in the Meiji Era and has developed thereafter. The topics are as follows:family life in Japan; children's poverty; women's rights to self-determination; abortion; reproductive rights; Japan's legal system; legal profession.
