Course Description |
|
You have learned the knowledge on the brain functions and mechanisms via the effects of mind-altering chemicals in the Course I. However the states of mind are determined not only by the brain alone but also by peripheral organs, i.e. via visceral sensations. We have such expressions as "gut feelings" and "gut-wrenching experience." In this seminar you will be asked to review, summarize and report basic literature focusing on "brain-gut interactions," thereby acquiring deeper knowledge on the mechanisms which construct your mind.
