1. Course Description
In this course, we will study Japanese economic and industrial development after the the W.W.Ⅱ. Our main theme is to understand (a)How Japanese manufacturing industries revived and grew up so rapidly in postwar period, (b)How they overcommed crisises such as "the dollar shick" and "the oil shock in 1970s. (c)How they obtained "the high-quality myth" of Made-in-Japan in 1980s. In order to approach these theme, we will look back the histry of some Japanese major export industry such as automobile,shipbuilding and electronics.
