1. Course Description
This course begins with the learning of “pinyin”, i.e. the system used to write down Chinese pronunciation in Latin alphabet, and of the four tones of Mandarin Chinese. Then it goes through pronunciation, basic grammar, and allows the students to practice simple daily life conversations. The course will focus on exercises to practice listening, speaking, reading and writing. At the same time, it will introduce Chinese way of thinking and national features that appear in particular Chinese phrases, as well as old culture and customs.
