Course Description |

Taiwan is a small but highly significant nation because of its political implications to peace and stability in East Asia and role in the global economy. Student will learn the basic characteristics of Taiwan society through discussing such topics as: (1) Taiwan's food culture and its cultural diversity (2) The complexity of the history of Taiwan (3) Taiwanese politics: democratization and identity politics (4) Education reform in Taiwan (5) The Cross-Strait relations and international relations surrounding Taiwan (5) The Japan-Taiwan relations
