Web Syllabus(講義概要)

The goal of this class is to increase understanding of spoken English and to develop more confidence in speaking. A further goal is to be able to read short essays and write short compositions.

Students are expected to participate actively in class by volunteering to ask and answer questions.

Students should prepare vocabulary and review class exercises in the textbook.

【第１回】Explanation of the course, attendance and grading policies, and a sample lesson. Students interview the teacher.
【第２回】Unit 1: Greeting people, exchanging personal information.
【第３回】Unit 2: Describing people’s appearance and personality.
【第４回】Continue Unit 2.Numbers up to millions.
【第５回】Unit 3: Talking about routines and plans. Numbers: addition and subtraction
【第６回】Further practice on explaining usual activities and interest. Mid-term Test
【第７回】Unit 4: Describing locations.
【第８回】Further practice of locations. Numbers: fractions, persentages, decimals.
【第９回】Unit 5:Asking and giving directions.
【第10回】Asking and giving directions. Numbers: multiplication.
【第11回】Unit 6: Talking about past activities.
【第12回】More practice of past tense. Numbers: Division
