English is the world language, the most important language to communicate with people all over the world. In order to be truly educated, it is essential to be able to communicate in English. However, after years of studying in English, many students find it difficult to put their knowledge of English to use. This course is designed to enhance students ability to speak and understand English.

To give opportunities to practice ordinary communication in English, especially speaking and listening.

50％ class participation. 50％ final exam.

教科書・参考書 |
|
Time to Talk: Speaking - Listening in Everyday English (Macmillan LanguageHouse). The instructor will also use videos of an American television series in English with English subtitles.

準備学修の内容 |
|
Review each section in the textbook before each class to prepare for class exercises. Ideally use what has been learned with English speakers as opportunities arise.

その他履修上の注意事項 |
|
Regular attendance is required. More than six absences results in automatic failure in the course, unless the results of the final exam are S or A.

| Classes will follow the textbook in order of chapters at the optimum speed appropriate for the class members. In addition, the television series will be presented in order of episodes. A final exam will be given at the end of the course. |
