Web Syllabus(講義概要)

　このゼミの主なテーマは、理想郷（ユートピア）と暗黒郷（ディストピア）です。これらに関してイギリス文学と映画を学び、また、世界文学、世界映画（アニメ、漫画など）について分析します。前期は好きなトッピクを自立的に研究し、発表・議論し、英作文を書く。後期はAll-memberゼミ活動で本作り、また動画プレゼンテーションなどをしたいと考えています。このゼミはほとんど英語で行います。
　This seminar will address the issues of utopia and dystopia and mainly look at British literature and cinema. Students will have many chances to compare issues in Japanese literature and cinema or indeed traditions from other countries. We shall look at utopia and dystopia and discuss how they are represented in literature, film, manga, anime etc. Students are expected to present on issues of their choosing and to write reports and essays. We shall ask whether utopia/dystopia has any meaning in the current world. This seminar is undertaken in English.

　This course is an introduction to the topic of utopia and dystopia. Students will research a particular writer/director/poet/manga artist/musician or historical period and give regular presentations. We will connect and discuss contemporary issues linked to utopia/dystopia in class. It is hoped students will make a class book in the second semester.

　宿題（30％） class、ミニ発表（30％） and 期末レポート・発表・poster presentation（40％）。

　３回以上の欠席は基本的に不可とする。遅刻は20分まで。遅刻３回で欠席１回とみなします。
