Objectives |

In order to design a machine, one must possess knowledge of the mechanical element. In addition to the mechanical element, the student will study structure, standards, function and drafting modulo, to make the foundation of the machine design.

Outline |
|
We learn the mechanical element which is the minimum unit of a machine. In many cases, a complicated machine consists of simple mechanical elements. Because many of the mechanical elements are standardized, the knowledge of standards is necessary for designing. We learn the functions, structures and standards of the typical mechanical elements required for the machine design.
