Objectives |

To be able to understand the basic knowledge of electromagnetism needed to become a mechanical engineer.
Moreover, to know the specific examples related to electrical machines and sensors.

The following contents are to be studied.
(1) Principle and structure of alternators and electric motors. Magnetic circuit in transformers
(2) Structure and principle of direct current motor. Starting method and speed control method.
(3) Structure and principle of synchronous motor.
(4) Structure and principle of induction motor.
(5) Structure and principle of stepping motor.
