Objectives
The aim of this course is to deal with methods of extracting, purifying and identifying naturally occurring substances such as biologically active substances and food ingredients.

Outline
In this course, principles and applications of solvent fractionation, chromatography, and instrumental analyses will be studied. Key words in this lecture are organic solvents, solvent fractionation, column chromatography, thin layer chromatography, gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography, ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, 1H- and 13C-NMR spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry.
