1.
Objectives
On the basis of English skills and knowledge they have already acquired, students will be able to further improve their English grammar, which will lubricate their communication. In addition, students will be able to acquire expressions that would help them to guide visitors from abroad around Japan.
2.
Outline
Students will improve their grammar dealing with the dialogues and grammatical questions in the textbook. First, they will practice reading the dialogue (or the passage) at the beginning of each unit aloud after the CD, and then they will check their understanding of the dialogue, putting it into Japanese. Second, they will understand the explanations on the target grammar points in the unit and answer the related questions. Third, they will practice making or rewriting sentences with the grammar they have just studied. In the eighth class, students will watch a film or drama conducted in English with subtitles and write comments on it apart from English grammar. Each member will be called on more than once per class, so students are expected to be prepared for every class and answer with confidence.
