Objectives
Students learn in this course the history and the present situation of commercial distribution of some important items produced in agriculture and fisheries. As these items are perishable and easy to become rotten, the function of officially built wholesale marketplaces are to be analysed.
2.
Outline
In this course, we discuss the following subjects.
(1) the important role of the system of publicly built wholesale market
(2) the economic behavior of various merchants around distribution channels of vegetables and marine products
(3) the influence of agricultural cooperatives and fisheries cooperative associations on the price formation process
(4) many types of trials and errors by producers themselves to sell their products at the reasonable price
