Objectives
A regional geography is a science that gives us clues about regional characteristics and therefore various phenomena in the area. We shall investigate some of the factors causing the phenomena. Nature and the humanities are included in these phenomena and they are judged from the viewpoint of time and space. This is the aim of the class; that you, the student, come to be able to grasp the characteristics of various regions of Japan. By learning regional geography, you will come to understand the regional characteristics easily and propose the solutions of problems and prospects on the regional economy.

Outline
In this course, the participants will study the view point and method of regional Geography, and then will study the characteristics of the areas which are divided into some eastern parts in Japan such as Hokkaido and Tohoku.
