Objectives |
|
We learn “Museum Exhibition Theory” in this Museology 5. This subject aims to understand theories of museum exhibition as well as a series of activities in order to make collections accessible to the public. Also, aims to obtain a basic knowledge and techniques for managing appropriate exhibition environment. Furthermore, we examine an inherent conflict between policy of access and a policy of conservation of museum collections.

Outline |
|
We take a general view of a significance of museum exhibitions and their theories. This subject attempts to highlight the following themes: a concept, historical transitions, various forms, a making process, practical methods and techniques, interpretations, utilization of media tools and evaluation methods of museum exhibitions. These themes are mainly covered by taught sessions. However, several practical activities such as discussion, seminars and museums visit will be also provided in order to deepen understanding. Moreover, we train students’ communication abilities through a presentation, report writing and discussion.
