Course Description |

History of Economics III investigates a history of economic thought mainly from Adam Smith to J.M.Keynes and after, focusing on the issues of market and state, economics and ethics, growth and welfare. It largely deals with Adam Smith and the classical political economy (T.R. Malthus, David Ricardo and J.S. Mill);the historical school and Karl Marx; Alfred Marshall, A.C. Pigou and welafre economic sudies; J.M. Keynes, William Beveridge and the British welfare state; and Fukuda Tokuzo and the Japanese economic thought. History of Economics III will focus more on Adam Smith and the classical political economy: and History of economics IV will do more on the ne-classical economists and Keynes.
