Course Description |

This course examines modern Japanese history from a historical-sociological perspective, using empirical data such as statistics and ethnographic accounts as well as visual aids such as movies, photos, and video clips. We will examine various aspects of modern Japanese society, including politics, diplomacy, media,mass culture, education and family among other topics.
