Course Description |

Human beings cannot live in the state of "nature", in whatever form one may construe that should be. This means that the state of human beings is essentially diversified through cultural / social environment in which people live. Cultural anthropology is the endeavor to explore this diversity by looking into concrete forms of human beings found in locales around the globe. In this series of lectures, students are introduced into basics of cultural anthropology. Special attention is paid on gender or sexuality related issues, which shall make an fertile arena to discuss human conditions deeply ingrained in culture and society -often far more deeply than commonly imagined.
