Course Description |

For a long time in Japan, school education for children with special needs was practiced according to an education system called special education. There were, however, several problems with this system and improvements were called for. Among those improvements was the greater emphasis placed on educational needs, as well as the development of teaching aimed at children with learning and developmental disabilities. From April 2007, "special education" changed to "special needs education". In this class we aim to gain an accurate understanding of this education system.
