Web Syllabus(講義概要)

The course is for students who plan to be teachers in senior high schools or junior high schools in Japan, and who need to consolidate their ability in terms of their general English and their classroom skills. In the course, we will be mainly focusing on two things:
(1) increasing your understanding of the language, especially when it is used in communication
(2) highlighting certain aspects of public speaking, including pronunciation, volume, intonation and gestures

The main aims of the course are:
(1) to allow you to develop your presentation skills in their academic, professional, civic and cultural life in English as a communication tool
(2) to increase your accuracy of grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and expression

プレゼンテーション（グループおよび個人）(約30％）、小テスト（約20%）、期末試験（約50%)によって判断します。

1) テキスト：Noboru Matsuoka, _Presentation to Go_(Cengage Learning）
2) 辞書等：必ず授業に持参すること。電子辞書でも紙の辞書でも構いません。詳細については初回授業時に指示します。

予習および復習は必須です。その日におこなう授業内容の予習、前の週におこなった授業の復習を必ずおこなって授業に出席ください。その他、毎回の授業の予習と復習の詳細については授業時に指示します。

■予習
　プレゼンテーションをおこなう本授業においては、以下の二点を必ず実践してください。詳細については授業内で指示します。
１）テキスト付属のDVDの視聴。
２）プレゼンテーション（原稿作成）の準備。
３）プレゼンテーション（発表）の練習と準備。

■復習
　当然のことですが、プレゼンテーションでは伝える内容を理解しておくことが重要です。その手段として単熟語力は必須ですので、授業で学習した語句を中心にできるかぎり暗記するように心がけて下さい。
　またご自身で振り返りが可能になるように、プレゼンテーションはすべて動画撮影し、ＬＭＳにて公開します。
１）授業で学習した単語熟語をリストアップする。
２）リスト化した単語熟語を覚えるようにする。
３）ＬＭＳで公開された自分自身のプレゼンテーションを自己評価する。

プレゼンテーション能力を向上させる演習授業ですので、毎回の出席を重視します。
