Organic Chemistry 1

UCHIDA, Kenichi
  Elective  2 credits
【Biosciences・1st semester】
17-1-0366-2342

1.
Outline
Organic Chemistry 1 includes the properties and reactivities of aromatic compounds (electrophilic substitution reactions, o,p- and m-orientations), nucleophilic substitution reactions (SN1, SN2), elimination reactions (E1, E2), the properties and reactivities of alcohols, ethers, and thiols, some famous organometallic compounds (organolithium and organomagnesium compounds). You can also study the nomenclature of these compounds.
2.
Objectives
There are a huge number of organic compounds around us including natural and artificial products. Organic chemistry 1 is the study of properties and reactivities of these compounds. This course is the study of the basics of organic chemistry in order to acquire an understanding of the bioscience field.
