Outline |

Social research is a systematic collection and analysis of first hand data about social phenomena. It is an important part of the scientific method of sociological studies. In this course, we aim to develop student's knowledge of quantitative research methodology. The course is divided into three parts. Part one focuses on the nature of social research, part two deals with how we collect data, part three introduces statistical techniques in data analysis.
