１． 授業の概要（ねらい）

As Development Economics III, this course will be an introductory class to Development Economics and Asian economy. We will consider the basic problems and issues that the developing countries are now facing, such as poverty, education, health, environmental problems. We will also read important studies on this field such as works by Amartya Sen and so on. We will decide the details of the course after the first meeting. This course will be held in English.

Students will be able to attain the basic knowledge of Development Economics and understand the problems and issues that developing countries are now facing to.

Participation in the class including presentation and discussion 50%
Final report 50%

教科書・参考書

We do not use textbooks. The instructor will prepare handouts for the class.

Students are required to read assigned papers before the class.

Knowledge of using Power Point is welcome.
