Outline |

In every class, a after text-based short lecture, students work on problem-solving exercises or writing tasks to acquire skills to write logically and precisely. 1. Students will write a short essay summarizing and explaining what could be read from presented information (such as text, charts, statistical data, etc.) or stating their own opinion in 1,200 characters. 2. Students work on writing exercises for essays. The final essay is to be written at home.

Objectives |

Based on the skills acquired in “Writing of Better Japanese 1”, this course aims to develop students’ further skills a) in using idioms, common phrases, honorific in Japanese and advanced writing skills. b) required for academic writing.
In addition, this course aims to cultivate ethics of academic writing in students.
