Outline
This is a fun and interactive course. During the course, special attention is given to proper pronunciation, building vocabulary and conversational skills.

Objectives
The course aims to introduce basic English skills including grammar, vocabulary and conversation skills while building overall confidence in using the English language.

Grading Policy
Grading is based on student classroom performance, class presentation and final test score.
Classroom participation: 50%
Class presentation: 25% & Final test: 25%

Requirements (Assignments)
In this course, students will use class textbook, pen and notebook. There is homework issued in this class and students are expected to complete their homework before the next class.

Each student is expected to contribute positively to the learning environment in the classroom. This includes asking and answering questions in English.

２. It’s nice to meet you 1: Greetings, self-introduction and exchanging personal
information.
３. It’s nice to meet you 2: Personal description including hobbies and family.
４. Who are they talking about? 1: Describing appearances using adjectives.
５. Who are they talking about? 2: Describing relationships. Descriptive adjectives.
６. When do you start?: Talking about daily activities, schedules and frequency adverbs.
７. Where does this go? 1: Location prepositions.
８. Where does this go? 2: Describing rooms and objects.
９. How do I get there? 1: Verbs and prepositions of movement.
10. How do I get there? 2: Asking and giving street directions/stores/services.
11. What happened? 1: Regular and irregular verbs.
12. What happened? 2: Describing your past.
13. Review Unit: Review all that has been covered. Class presentations.
14. Final Review: Review of prepositions / adjectives / verbs. Class presentations.
