This class reads Man-yoshu(萬葉集). Man-yoshu is the oldest collection of Japanese poetry. It consists the 4516 numbered Japanese poems in 20 volumes were compiled in Nara period(710-784). The collection is one of the most important anthology in Japan. And we can know the japanese ancient culture in Man-yoshu. This class aims at studying the method of Waka(和歌Japanese poems) through reading Man-yoshu.
The class at the spring semester reads vol.1-2 in Man-yoshu.
