1.
Outline
In this course, students will study the projection of a point, line, plane, polyhedron and curved surface. Students learn the base of Descriptive Geometry through the accurate drawing work on paper. The classes are carried out by the drawing exercises for students to understand the contents and get interested in it. Students are expected to have a basic understanding of geometry. Descriptive Geometry is also the base for learning the Drawing for Mechanical Engineering. This course is carried out by flip teaching and students perform a group work. And Rubric evaluation of each students has to be done by team member. Also in this course, students make a presentation of their solution for task in front of other students.
Students can acquire the knowledge, skill and behavior for DP2 to DP6 through this lecture.
2.
Objectives
Descriptive Geometry is the study to present a solid 3D body in a 2D plane and to solve a geometrical task by the drawing. The objective of this course is to acquire an understanding of the concept of space and solid body. The subjects taught in this course are the basics to read a plan correctly and to inform the idea of the designer to the third person through the plan. Students will have a knowledge of drawings, skill for presentation through this course. So, students will have a interest in drawings by learning this course.
3.
Grading Policy
Your final grade will be calculated according to the following process : Reports for tasks(30%) and The Term-end examination(70%). And students are required to attend classes over 2/3 of total classes in this course, in order to take part in the term-end examination.
4.
Textbook and Reference
Textbook:『Standard Course Descriptive Geometry』Satoru Ino et al; Kyoritsu Pablishing Co., Ltd.
5.
Requirements (Assignments)
Students should study(1.5hr) watching and listening of VIDEO by LMS and they also should review(1.5hr) based on the lectures and try to write a report. Students are required to submit a report for task in each lectures.
6.
Note
Students have to prepare and bring a Textbook, note, a triangle(set square) and drawing compass in the class.
The Exchange report of reflection is carried out in every class in this course, in order to communicate with teacher.
This course will be taught in Japanese.
