1.
Outline
Engines are used in various field, not only automobiles. For instance they are used in general industry, marine, agriculture, and so on. Engines are consisted of various parts, subsystems, and components and also, the concept of engine itself is established through various study arras. In this course, above all, students will learn basic knowledge of the automobile engines. Not only the structure, function and operation of engines and their components are looked at, but also principle of cycles, combustion, and specification of various engines are studied in detail. In this course, students will perform a group work and make a presentation of their solution for tasks in front of other students. Students can acquire the knowledge, skill and behavior for DP2, DP3, DP4.
2.
Objectives
Basic knowledge of engines, for example structure, function, principle of operation and thermodynamics are learned in this course. Students can understand the importance of engine used for the power plant of vehicles, industrial machines, and so on at the end of the course. And students will have a knowledge about engines and have a presentation skill and students can explain the necessity and the future image of engine.
3.
Grading Policy
Your final grade will be calculated according to the following process : Reports for tasks(30%) and The Term-end examination(70%). And students are required to attend classes over 2/3 of total classes in this course, in order to take part in the term-end examination.
