Outline
A placement test is required for this course. By learning grammar, we
can understand how sentences are constructed and how to construct
sentences. We will do some exercises to check the understanding and
to apply the grammatical knowledge to four skills: reading, listening,
writing, and speaking. The exercises will also help to develop
vocabulary.

Objectives
The purpose of this course is to enable students to learn elementary
level grammar and improve English proficiency.
This class is related to the educational goal 1, 2, and 3.

Grading Policy
Examination 60% and assignment 40%. 60 points out of 100 is the pass mark.

Elementary English Reading and Writing(Tetsuzo Sato and Maki Ito, Nan'undo)

Requirements (Assignments)
Read the text book and check English words and phrases you don't know before the class.
Study of about one hour is recommended before and after this class.
