Outline
The diversification of people living in Japanese society is rapidly progressing. Each of us is required to grow into a world full of international sense by positively accepting and understanding various ideas and values from different countries and people. Fostering such international talent is an urgent task in the globalization society. With this background in mind, this lecture will learn about the relationship between intercultural and communication from various perspectives.
Also, presentations will be given by students from 4th to 8th lessons, and 14th lesson will be poster presentations in groups. In this lesson, you will acquire attitudes, abilities and knowledge on study objective 1, 2, and 3.

Objectives
At the end of this course, you should be able to:
1. Understanding international exchange and cross-cultural understanding through theory and practice. You can acquire international senses and abilities.
2. It is to be able to acquire multifaceted understanding of international problems.
3. It is to be able to make a logical evaluation on understanding and interpretation of international issues.

Grading Policy
Your overall grade in the class will be decided based on the following:
- Class attendance and attitude in class :20%
- Homework:30%
- Report:50%
The results of the class attitude will be evaluated on the degree of participation in the discussion.
In order to pass, students must earn at least 60 points out of 100.
Report will be returned and explained.

Requirements (Assignments)
1.Please read related parts of text in advance. (30 minutes)
2.Please summarize the content of the lesson and your opinion in the impression statement and submit it by the deadline. (30 minutes)
3.We will present presentations by students during the lesson and poster presentations in groups so please prepare for gathering related materials etc. (30 minutes)

We will assign tasks related to the content of the lesson periodically, and you should submit the report.
Presentations will be conducted by the students during the lesson and poster presentations in the group, so we will expect you to discuss the presentation and question-and-answer session after investigating the related document.
In the class of information electronics department, this is a compulsory subject of JABEE compatible program (optional subject) and correspond education goal Item 1-1.

The content of the preparation is instructed during the lesson.

3. Learn the concepts and feature of culture.
4. To consider the concept of communication.
5. Learn about cross-cultural adaptation.
6. Learn about the recognition of different cultures.
7. Learn about discrimination.
8. Learn about the view of the world.
9. Learn about cross-cultural training.
10. Learn about cross-cultural acceptance.
11. Learn about knowing yourself.
12. Learn about Non-language communication.
13. Learn about assertive communication.
14. To consider efforts toward realization of multicultural symbiosis society.
15. Summarize contents of previous lecture.
