Outline
The aim of this course is to help students acquire understanding about the significance and method of curriculum creation based on the process of PDCA, to achieve educational aims. This lesson starts with the topics about significance of curriculum creation, by focusing on the course of study, educational aims, and competency. It also deals with examination of practice case, in order to understand the theory and practice curriculum management and evaluation. Based on these, to realize importance of medium- and long-term curriculum design, students are required to create curriculum of their own major subjects with "backward design".

Objectives
The goals of this course are to:
(1) Explain the significance of curriculum making at schools.
(2) Explain theory and method of curriculum making.
(3) Discuss the significance and method of curriculum management that incorporates curriculum evaluation.
(4) Develop unit plan based on the nature of their own major subject and the modern problems of school education.

Grading Policy
Your overall grade will be decided based on the following:
- One Page Portfolios: 30%
- Unit plan: 20%
- Term-end examination: 30%
- Group discussion and presentation: 20%

Textbook and Reference
Will be introduced in the class.
5.
Requirements (Assignments)
(1) Before class, read the relevant part of the textbook or the course of study and look up terms that you do not know the meaning by using encyclopedias, and fill in the before-class task section of the portfolio (about 30 minutes).
(2) After class, the points in the portfolio and undertake the after-class task (about an hour).
(3) One Page Portfolios are always reviewed upon their return. Then, if there is a misunderstanding (especially in the case of C rating or less), review it with own notes and the references shown in the document, and undertake the task again (about an hour).
(4) Occasionally, reading specified pages of the textbook will be asked. (about 30 minutes)
(5) Before and after the 11th to 14th classes, read the course of study and study teaching materials (2 hours).
