Outline
In this lecture, we shall learn about the relationship between concepts and principles of thermodynamics and phenomenon of physics and chemistry at first. Next, we will learn the efficiency, operation and cycle of heat engine and machinery,their big influences for the life of human being, and how to use those machines.
This course aims to nurture students in the acquisition of skills to propose the new lifestyles for human beings in the future. For the preservation of circulation system of nature environment, the improvement of the heat engine and machine based on the understanding of Thermodynamics, the noble usage of them and the investigation of the Global Warming based on Thermodynamics are very important.
Then, presentation of subjects and discussion are carried out to support of understanding, in this lecture, students can learn the knowledge, skill and behavior for DP1 to DP6.

Objectives
Thermodynamics is the study that deals with energy transformation and transfer, which is the principle of each heat engine that has contributed to the development of human civilization. In the future, the importance of the thermodynamics will increase with the improvement of cycle efficiency of power units installed in airplane, ship and automobile, and of atomic, geothermal energy and low temperature power plants. Students will learn the importance of improvement of efficiency of heat engine and machines, in which the basic concept and principle of thermodynamics are applied. And finally, students will understand much about Global Warming through the study of thermodynamics, and about the circulation system of nature environment on the Earth and the importance of its preservation.
Great contributions and influences of Thermodynamics in human life is learned by reviewing the basic concept and principle of Thermodynamics and the operation and efficiency of heat engine and machinery based on the Thermodynamics application. And also, students will learn that the efficiency improvement of heat engine and machinery based on the Thermodynamics application largely contributes to the survival of human being in the future.

Grading Policy
Evaluation will be carried out by sum total of the result(50%) of report for subject and the result(50%) of presentation and discussion in the lecture.
Students will get the feedback of the evaluation for their report on this lecture by comments and explanation.

5.
Requirements (Assignments)
It is needed to have an interest in Thermodynamics, and participants are preferred to have taken the Thermodynamics course in the undergraduate school.
Presentations and discussions by the students will be carried out in the class. They must submit reports for the practice exercises, and should prepare for presentations and discussions.
Also, it is needed to prepare and review for the lectures about 3 hours.
