Outline |

The aim of this course is to help students acquire basic knowledge and skills for practicing moral education as a teacher. There are three contents in the course as follows: (1) Discuss the significance and theory of moral education. (2nd–6th) (2) Learn about the goals, contents, and evaluation of moral education by mainly organizing the matters of "Course of Study". (7th, 8th) (3) Inquiry methods of moral education by planning a lesson and conducting its trial. (9th–14th)

Objectives |

The goals of this course are to (1) Understand and explain the significance and theory of moral education. (2) Make and trial their original lesson plan, based on their understanding about basic theory, contents, and methods of moral education.

Grading Policy |
|
Your overall grade will be decided based on the following: - One Page Portfolios: 10% - lesson plans: 30% - Trial lesson: 20% - Term-end examination: 30% - Group activity and presentation: 10%

Textbook and Reference |
|
Will be introduced in the class.

5. |
Requirements (Assignments) |
|
(1) Before class, read the relevant part of the textbook or the course of study and look up terms that you do not know the meaning by using encyclopedias, and fill in the before-class task section of the portfolio (about 30 minutes). (2) After class, the points in the portfolio and undertake the after-class task (about an hour). (3) Understand and explain contents and moral values in the course of study by reading the relevant sections of the textbook (about 30 minutes). (4) In the practice of trial lessons, read the course of study, study on teaching materials, create teaching plans, etc. (about 2 hours).
