Outline |
|
The relation between transportation and economy will be analyzed examining the historical change of Japan's domestic and international transportation. The contribution of transportation to regional society/economy will be also discussed.

Objectives |
|
The students will get an essential knowledge of understanding the relation between transportation and regional economy from the history of domestic/international transportation and the case studies on the selected regions.
|
3. |
Grading Policy |
|
Term examination (60%), short tests, short reports, discussions in the class (40% in total).
|
4. |
Textbook and Reference |
|
Handouts will be distributed. The reference materials will be indicated in the class.
|
5. |
Requirements (Assignments) |
|
To collect the reference materials such as books, papers, and reports about the histories and the situations of the regions focused in the class will help to understand the lectures. Use of the Internet will be useful to collect information about various cases.

To read news papers carefully everyday will be helpful.
