|
Since the postwar industrial restoration policy, the government's industrial location policy has institutionalized various industrial location measures to rectify disparities between urban and rural areas.
Local governments have been actively engaged in regional promotion measures focused on attracting companies to improve fiscal and improve employment under the national industrial location policy. However, the regional economy did not lead to the elimination of excessive depopulation as seen in concentration of Tokyo's despite efforts by various policies and municipalities.
In the lecture, with the cooperation of the Kanto Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, efforts to eliminate the gap between urban and rural areas, by learning the realities and location policy of a wide range of regional economies, we will deepen our understanding of industrial location theory and basic theory on regional economics.

Objectives |
|
Learn the importance of the roles and activities of enterprises and local governments in location policy by learning the progress of structural changes of companies due to the industrial development in Japan and the basic theory and examples that supported it.
In addition, we will acquire the industrial development which indispensable in local economy and the way of industrial location towards revitalization of rural areas.
