Outline
Basic level of environmental economics will be lectured. At first, topics about environment and economics are briefly reviewed. Following the first part, the relationship between environmental problem and market failure is lectured. And then, economic analysis of environmental policy is introduced. Various methods about estimating the value of environment will be also lectured. If we have time, topics about the relation between firm behavior and environmental problems and the relation between international trade and environments will be introduced.
2.
Objectives
The objectives of this course consist of two parts. The first one is to understand present situations of environmental problems. The second one is to apply principles of economics in order to understand properties of environmental problems.

Grading Policy
In order to earn credits for this course, the following two conditions are required. One is to submit homework that meets a certain level. The other is to pass the final exam.

Textbook and Reference
Specific textbook is not used. In this course, study materials will be uploaded to LMS and classes will be conducted based on the study materials.

5.
Requirements (Assignments)
The following items are required to prepare for this course.
-Download materials from LMS and read them according to the progress of the course.
-As far as possible, refer to the references for the details of the contents described in the materials, and the words that you do not understand.
