Outline
In this course students will do four kinds of exercises in the textbook to improve their listening skills. In the first exercises, they will choose the sentence that best describes the photograph. In the second exercises, they will listen to a question and three possible responses, and then they will choose the correct response. In the third exercises, they will listen to a short conversations, and then will be asked three questions about the conversation. In the last exercises, they will listen to a short talk, and then will be asked three questions about the talk.
This class is designed to achieve DP1: Students will acquire fundamental knowledge of various areas of study, such as a foreign language, the humanities and social science, to make a positive contribution to a society.

Objectives
The objective of this course is to improve your listening skills. Students will be able to listen to and comprehend a short talk about daily life.

The term-end examination (90%) and assignments (10%)

Requirements (Assignments)
Before class students should carefully read the auxiliary textbook to understand how to improve listening skills. Students are allowed to use before trying the exercises. Students should review the assignments after they are returned to them. (23 hours overall)

Note
Students will listen to the CD and answer the questions. They should listen to it again and again before they answer the questions. The assignment A is from Drill I to Drill 20, and the assignment B is from Drill 21 to drill to. Students are not allowed to submit the assignment B before they pass the assignment A. Students are encouraged to listen to the CD many times. Repeating after its narrators will be helpful.
