Outline
This seminar will provide the introductory lectures and laboratory works on the research methods to understand the society and industries in the region. Including literature-reading, fieldworks, reading and building maps, collection of regional data and analyses.
2.
Objectives
The students will get the knowledge and skills to analyze and understand the social and industrial conditions in the region. They will also gain the abilities to cope with the regional issues.
3.
Grading Policy
Presentation materials, oral presentation, and discussion in the seminar (50%), final report (50%)
4.
Textbook and Reference
The reference materials will be indicated in the class.
5.
Requirements (Assignments)
A student is requested to collect and analyze the data on the targeted area prior to his/her presentation in the seminar. The writing of the final report needs considerable quantity of work. 40 hours or more working will be required in total.

Note
Good preparation, perfect attendance, clear presentation, active discussion, and the elaborate report are requested.
