Course Description

Reading Research Papers on Topics of Emotion and Motivation

In this seminar, we will read original articles that have appeared in scientific journals. These papers are written for use by professional scientists. At first glance, these papers may seem difficult to understand, as they are not written in a style that is easily comprehensible to students. However, students majoring psychology are required to acquire the skill of reading and understanding professional papers written in English. Do not be intimidated if you do not yet possess such abilities, as the instructor will teach you all of the skills necessary for success in this course. Papers on the topics of motivation and emotion have been selected based on the instructor’s research interests. Thus, the selected papers cover a wide array of topics, from biological experiments using animals to human clinical studies. Students with diverse interests are welcome.
