Course Description

Through spring and autumn semesters, this course covers the actual situations and challenges of the Japanese economy thoroughly. This spring semester's contents are divided into two categories. The first is postwar economic history, such as high-growth period, bubble and its collapse, lost two decades, deflation, Lehman shock and “Abenomics”. The second is ‘economics in daily life’, such as household consumption and savings, employment and unemployment, increasing non-regular employment, prices and land values, low birth rate and ageing population, social security and health care.
