Course Description

We often tend to regard "region" as self-evident and fixed unity. However, in fact, "region" is also a framework related to the long-term human activities. This lecture takes the environmental history of Yunnan Province, China, as the interaction of the historic human activities and ecological environment, and gives an opportunity to think about how the classification of "region" is built up.
