Course Description

The course focuses on an overview of the contemporary history of Japan-Asia relations since the Japanese colonization of Taiwan and Korea. Particular subjects such as Japan's economic cooperation to Asia, Indochinese refugees and Japan's participation to UNPKO are treated with my professional experiences. Regional integration, implication of the rise of China, and "history issues" with China and Korea are also important subjects to be studied during the course. Evaluation is based on the attendance record and the result of term-end exam or report.
